From Teeth to Tequila! The Canadian Winds To Cancún

The weeks have kept on going and they somehow just keep on giving. It is now October and it’s been every weekend since Mid-May where for the first time in a very long time, it feels as if time has slowed down. In this weird change of mindset, it seemed that the more things I packed onto my schedule, the more I lived in the moment. I think being overwhelmed by the seemingly endless boxes of color splashed across my calendar is key to living in the present. When there’s so much activity planned ahead of you to the point where you feel like you almost lose track, your mind just craves a life experience at a snail-pace. And I think I kind of like that. To know there’s ten things coming up but to make sure you get through the ten things before, I can’t help but feel like I’m sponging each hour with more intent. How does one ever catch a break? When there’s time to catch a break, you’ll find me in the sky.

Now here’s what was going on!

Flew to Montréal and stayed at the Fairmont for the most productive Pediatric Dental Conference where professional connections were solidified and well-being was prioritized

Poutine from La Banquise was mandatory as much as the necessity for a trip to the Moment Spa at the Fairmont. The stories to be heard about the dental conference were both entertaining and very much necessary. As a very important figure in the dental community has probably said many times on many occasions, “People who are truly important will know who I am.” For someone like me who prefers to watch and observe from the sidelines, this quote sure makes me want to strive and thrive a little bit more. Is it possible to ride the edge of the spotlight but never truly be in it?

Participated in some nightlife activities at Yoko Luna before attending the President’s dinner on our last night

Flew to Toronto to attend a wedding but first took advantage of some extra time to embrace everything beautiful that makes this place home

And what makes this place home are not only our families but the paths we’ve walked and the places we’ve been that helped shape our youth. Newfound love for the city.

Celebrated the newly married husband and wife at Graydon Hall Manor with rekindled friendships, trivia-prized red envelopes and sparklers that sparkled the night

Flew to Cancún and checked into Secrets, The Vine, an adults-only resort for a week of all-inclusive indulgences, ocean views and ultra relaxation

If you’re looking for a more relaxed vacation in Cancún, I highly recommend Secrets, The Vine. The preferred club junior suite with ocean view was just right for us, boasting 14′ to 15′ tall ceilings and about 700 sq. ft. of living space. The open space concept definitely felt luxurious and we honestly didn’t know this was what we booked until we got to our room. It was a really pleasant surprise. My most favorite parts of the room was our bathroom ceiling shower head and the stunning ocean view!

Ate everything from Italian food to Asian food, brunch and juices at the buffet, through ordering room-service, and even grabbing burgers by the private pool

I think the food was pretty standard if not above average for an all-inclusive. The restaurants were all so large that the open concept made it more of an experience. Burgers and margaritas by the pool were so good. A funny memory here is being scolded by one of the workers for putting our wet towels in the used-bin, “You’re on vacation! Next time, just leave it on your chair!”

And cycled through a complimentary hydration therapy cycle before receiving massages at the spa. Whether the weather was rain or shine, smiles and good times were prioritized

A cool benefit of our stay was a complimentary hydration therapy cycle and massage. You best believe we took full advantage! There’s always a way to focus on mindfulness in rain or shine, have a cookie or head to the gym!

Where will the winds take us next?
A special thank you to Brandon for the clever title!
