If you missed the first leg of our trip, you can read about it here: Asia Trip 2019: Part I — Hong Kong.
The second leg of our trip started with a fast ferry ride from Hong Kong to the city of Macau! We had a full day before our flight out to our next destination so figured we could take the time to explore. Despite my minor sea sickness and having to carry our travel backpacks all day, we were able to power through and enjoy our day.
Here’s what we did:
Took a shuttle bus to The Venetian from the Macau ferry terminal

Made our way by foot to Taipa Village

Captured some fun moments in the gardens surrounding the village wall

Soaked in the moments in the village streets and corners

Reached the highly anticipated Taipa Village street market!

Ate pork pineapple bun sandwiches, yam ice cream and delicious Portuguese tarts!

Flagged down a taxi and drove to the heart of Macau at Senado Square

Followed the crowds into seemingly endless forks in the road

Arrived at a touristy St. Anthony’s Parish

Climbed more steps up the Fortaleza do Monte, pointing our cameras in the same direction as cannons

Photographed those last moments before heading to the airport to catch our flight to Chiang Mai, Thailand!

Macau was a quick but memorable stop on our Asia trip. From the grandeur of The Venetian to the charming streets of Taipa Village and the historic Fortaleza do Monte, we packed a lot into one day. The Portuguese tarts alone made the ferry ride worth it.
Next stop: Chiang Mai, Thailand!
